French Tart Tatin Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

4 Apples
10 Ginger Zest
3 Stars of Anise
¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Sheet of Shortcrust Pastry
Ice cream to serve

Recipe:

1. Peel the apples and cut them into 4 slices each.

2. In a frying pan, place the sugar, ginger slices, anise stars, and butter.

3. Bring to medium heat and place the apples with the round faces down.

4. Without stirring the preparation, leave it in the pan for 30 to 45 minutes - it depends on the amount of water released by the apples while cooking - until it reaches a caramel color.

5. If the frying pan can go to the oven, cover it with the shortcrust pastry and bake at 180ºC | 356ºF.

6. If the frying pan cannot go to the oven, like ours, put it in a tart pan and then cover it with the shortcrust pastry and put it in the oven at 180ºC | 356ºF.

7. Leave in the oven for 30 minutes or until toasted.

8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and it's time to do the platting, be careful not to burn yourself on the hot caramel.

9. Let it cool down a bit and plate it with two scoops of ice cream and enjoy this delicacy!
