PRAGUE | City Guide - 3 days in Prague 🇨🇿 - The2Planners

€: Free | Paid Entrance | Time: 180 min | ★★★★★

Free to walk around the grounds, but you do have to purchase tickets for St. Vitus, Golden Lane, St. George's Basilica, etc. Prague Castle sits high on a promontory overlooking the Vltava River. The complex is made up of the Castle, the Gothic Saint Vitus Cathedral, the Romanesque Basilica of St. George, the Spanish Hall, the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Golden Lane, and the Stag moat (closed in 2019).

On a slightly different note, the castle is also home to the rather cutesy attraction, the Golden Lane: a small-scale street that features houses that almost look like miniatures of the size they ought to be. Its name comes from the goldsmiths that used to live there.

Also situated within Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral deserves special mention. This tremendous gothic cathedral is the most visible part of Prague Castle, thanks to its large frame and elaborate design.

Although a ticket is required to see the full cathedral, it is possible to visit the entrance for free.

Where to Leave your Luggage?

You can find two places, right in the city center, where you can leave your luggage. The Masarykovo Nadrazi Train Station and at Prague Central Station. Leaving here your luggage is super secure and it has surveillance. For a suitcase you'll pay €2.50 (60CZK) and for locker you'll pay €2 (50CZK).

Where to Sleep?

We stayed in a nice and cheap 3 Stars Hotel called Central Hotel Prague. Right in the heart of Prague, this hotel is very continental and has a 24hours open reception. We loved the breakfast and the bedroom was really nice and warm. A lovely choice, we loved it!
