Portuguese Salt Codfish Fritters - Pataniscas de Bacalhau Recipe

When you don't have a lot of codfish, you can shred it and make some beautiful golden salt codfish fritters, or as we say in Portugal Pataniscas!

You can eat this delicacy as an appetizer or a main dish, with salad or tomato rice.

Portuguese Salt Codfish Fritters - Pataniscas de Bacalhau Recipe - The 2 Planners

Ingredients:

400g Shredded Codfish
 3 Eggs
2 Cups Flour
½ Cup Water
 Oil to Fry
Chopped Parsley
Salt

Recipe:

1. Shred the 400g of cod already soaked in water overnight, having changed the water a few times.

2. Add the 3 eggs to the shredded cod and mix until the mixture is combined.

3. Add the chopped parsley and a pinch of salt to the mixture of cod and eggs.

4. Then put a cup of flour and start creating a paste, add the second cup of flour, and seeing that the difficulty of stirring increases gradually add the water, creating a dough, neither too liquid nor too solid.

5. Taste the mixture still raw and add salt, if needed.

6. With the oil very hot, just create small portions with the help of two spoons and fry until they are golden brown.
