Lemon and Pepper Calamari Recipe

Fresh from the sea and ready to eat in less than 20min! What do you want more?

This Recipe is one of the most known dishes in Spain, and since we went to Picos de Europa, and we tried it there, we wanted to do it ourselves! As always! They normally use Paprika, we used black pepper! You can do it both ways, as it better suits you!

The recipe is super super easy to make, and with a good mayonnaise, it will be an amazing dish!

Don't forget about the fresh lemon, it will change everything!

Ingredients:

3 Large Squids
½ Cup Wheat Flour
½ Cup Corn Flour
Salt
Lemon Juice
Black Pepper
Oil to Fry
Slices of Lemon

Recipe:

1. Clean the squids and cut them into strips.

2. Put them in a bowl and season with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Let it rest for 30min.

3. In a bowl, place corn flour, wheat flour, salt, and black pepper, mix everything.

4. Put the oil to heat to fry the squids.

5. Pass the squids through the flour mixture and then fry them.

6. As soon as the squids begin to look golden, they are ready!

7. To increase the flavor of this delicacy add lemon juice squeezed directly from freshly cut lemon pieces.

Portuguese Chorizo and Mozzarella Stuffed Bread Recipe

If you love hot bread and melted cheese! This recipe is just for you!

If you love cheese as much as we do, this recipe is so right for you! You can eat this at any time, but we prefer it when is still hot, this way the cheese will melt in your mouth, and the chorizo works perfectly here!

If you love species as much as we do, you can put some chili or add some spicy sausage as well.

Be delighted with this traditional recipe!

You can do a big one or small portions as we did! This recipe will make 6 portions.

Portuguese Chorizo and Mozzarella Stuffed Bread Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

2 Chorizo (100g)
2 Spicy Sausages (50g)
150g Mozzarella Cheese
250g Wheat Flour
5g Bakers Yeast (or 15g fresh bakers yeast)
100ml Warm Water (not hot)
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
½ tsp Coarse Salt
½ tsp Granulated Sugar
Flour for Kneading

Recipe:

1. Dissolve the yeast in the warm water, allowing to stand for 5min. Then add the vegetable oil.

2. On a bench or in a bowl, place the flour and add the water with the yeast and oil, slowly.

3. Knead everything very well for 2min.

4. Add salt and sugar and knead for another 5min.

5. Place the dough in a bowl and cover with a cloth, allowing the dough to rise for 1h in a warm place, about 30ºC | 86ºF.

6. Knead the bread again and with the help of a rolling pin, roll out the dough to fill the bread.

7. Cut portions of the dough and fill with chorizo, spicy sausage, and cheese.

8. To make it easier, you can wet the ends of the dough with water to better close the stuffed bread.

9. Place everything on a baking tray and let it rise for another 1h in a warm place, around 30ºC | 86ºF.

10. Bake for 20 minutes at about 180ºC | 356ºF.

· For Appetizers, we were in a hurry, so we didn't get any appetizers, you'll have to do a Russian Roulette on the menu! 😅

· For Main Dish, we ordered two dishes for both of us to try on, LA-CLUB Sandwich - Sautéed Chicken, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Tomato, Mix of Green Leaves, Boiled Egg and Mayonnaise served on semi-platter bread.
Avocado Bowl - Avocado with seeds, mango, radishes, egg wrapped in poppy seeds, roasted sweet potatoes, cucumber served with a spinach base.
          Review: The LA-CLUB Sandwich was very juicy, and the chicken was very well seasoned, the fries were sweet potatoes fries, and they were delicious! The Avocado Bowl was really big! The avocado with seeds was a nice surprise, the rest of the dish was very well cooked, but nothing special! It was a plain dish!

· For Dessert, we ate Pannacottaaaaaaaaaa. Are we excited? Panacota LAB - Pannacotta with red fruit topping and strawberry jam.
          Review:
It's good, it's so good, it's really really good. You can feel the strong flavor of vanilla and the jam is very nice, adding a nice contrast with the rest of the dish! But Andrew's is better ❤️ 🤭

Overall, it's a good restaurant to visit, and if you go here during summer try to get one of the outside tables! Because this restaurant is near the Douro River! Best view ever!!!

Ps- Richie drank a pineapple and mint juice and Andrew a Watermelon, ginger, and strawberry juice.

How does not love Christmas? The most wonderful time of the year!

Portuguese Christmas Doughnuts can be eaten plain, with sugar and cinnamon, or with syrup! At Christmas, it will warm any soul!

Try this recipe to give an even bright color to your Christmas table!

Have a Warm and Beautiful Christmas!

Portuguese Christmas Doughnuts - Sonhos de Natal - Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

250mL Water
7 tbsp Olive Oil
150g Flour
4 eggs
Lemon Zest
 1 tsp Salt
Oil to Fry

Ingredients - Syrup:

200mL Water
200g Sugar
1 Cinnamon Stick
Lemon zest

Recipe - Syrup:

1. Put the water to boil in a pot.

2. Then add the sugar, cinnamon stick, and lemon zest.

3. Boil for 3 minutes until syrup is created.

4. Then just pour over your Christmas Doughnuts or leave them aside to dip them.

Recipe:

1. Put water in a saucepan and bring to the heat, as soon as it gets warm, pour the sifted flour and stir well, always on low heat.

2. Add the oil, beaten eggs, lemon zest, and salt.

3. Continue to stir until a more consistent dough forms.

4. Put the oil to heat in a frying pan and with your hands make small balls with the dough and fry them.

5. When removing them from the oil you can use sugar and cinnamon or syrup.

Chinese Fried Chicken with Sticky Sauce Recipe

We love all kinds of food, but Italian and Chinese are definitely our favorites! Not considering Portuguese of course! This dish looks much more complicated than it actually is!

Is a combination of very easy steps that you can make in the blink of an eye!

Chinese Fried Chicken with Sticky Sauce Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

3 Chicken Breasts
4 tbsp Cornstarch
2 Eggs
10 tbsp All-Purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
4 tsp Paprika
5 tbsp Vegetable Oil

Ingredients - Sauce:
1 tbsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
2 tbsp Honey
3 tbsp Ketchup
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
4 tbsp Soy Sauce

Ingredients - To Serve:
 1 Cup White Rice
Olive Oil
Salt
Sesame Seeds
 Sliced Chives

Recipe:

1. First, let's make white rice. In a pan place the rice, a pinch of salt, and a drizzle of olive oil. With the heat to the maximum add 2 cups of hot water and go stirring from time to time.

2. When the water starts to disappear, cover the rice and place the stove on medium-low heat for 15 minutes. And the rice is ready.

3. In a bowl add sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, ketchup, brown sugar, and soy sauce. This preparation will be used at the end to create the sticky sauce.

4. In another bowl place the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

5. Cut the chicken breasts into cubes and pass them through cornstarch, then egg, and finally in the previously seasoned flour.

6. After that, is time to fry the chicken.

7. In a wok pan or ordinary pan, place the 5 tbsp of vegetable oil and let it get very hot.

8. After checking that the vegetable oil is ready to fry, place the breaded chicken for frying. Depending on the dimensions of your utensils, you can fry everything at once or twice. Fry the chicken for 15 to 20 minutes.

9. Then remove the chicken to a plate with a paper towel to absorb the fat. Taking advantage of the flavor left in the frying wok pan let's add the sauce preparation to it.

10. Let the sauce start to boil and thicken. After thickening it is ready and you can add the fried chicken back to the wok pan to wrap.

11. And that's it, now it's time to plate!

12. On a plate, place the white rice with the fried chicken on top and full of sauce, add sesame seeds, and cut some chives.

Salted Caramel and Nuts Cheesecake Pots Recipe

Oh nuts! Here we go! You can do a lot with them, and each of them are very unique!

It will always be different, depending on which nuts do you love more! This time we did it with pecan nuts! But for you, others can work as well!

Quick tip, If you like a more liquid caramel just double the double cream! 🤤

Ingredients:

6 Oatmeal Cookies (110g)
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 Cup Pecan Nuts (or any kind of nuts)
250g Mascarpone
150mL Double Cream
4 tbsp Icing Sugar
1 Lemon Zested and Juiced
100g Granulated Sugar
50mL Double Cream
10g Salt

Recipe:

1. Place the cookies in a bowl and crush them sharply with a wooden spoon.

2. Put the pecans and butter in a frying pan and let it toast a little.

3. Remove from the heat and add to the cookies, creating a crumble.

4. In a mixer, beat the double cream, and once firm, add the mascarpone, icing sugar, and one lemon, zested and juiced.

5. In a pan add the sugar over high heat, when it gets a brown color turn off the stove and add the double cream, stirring quickly. Be careful not to burn yourself! And then season with salt.

6. It's time to do the assembly!

7. Take in 4 cups or glasses and add some of the cookie and nut crumble, add the caramel, and then the double cream and mascarpone preparation.

8. You can save some of the caramel and crumble for decoration!

9. Have fun!

Spicy Cheese Balls with Bacon Recipe

Do you love cheese? And spicy food? Okay, so try this 10min easy recipe!

You can do this in 10min, let's set up the chronometer? 

This recipe is super easy and for cheese lovers is just perfect! It combines a lot of flavors, such as the hotness of the chili, the saltness of the pretzel, and the sweetness of the jam! 

I'm always making these cheese balls when I want something more fulfilling! 😅

Spicy Cheese Balls with Bacon Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

8 Bacon Slices
160g Cheddar Cheese Bar
300g Cream Cheese
32 Pretzel Sticks
50g Peanuts
1 Jalapeño or ½ Ghost Pepper
Black Pepper
Paprika
Salt
 Fruit Jam (we like fig or tangerine jam)

Recipe:

1. Place the bacon slices in a frying pan until they are well toasted. Remove the bacon and dry it with a paper towel to remove the released fat.

2. After the bacon has cooled, chop them with a knife into very small pieces.

3. In a bowl, add the bacon, roughly chopped peanuts, salt, paprika, black pepper, and chopped Jalapeño (or half a ghost pepper).

4. In another bowl, add the cream cheese, salt, and grate the cheddar cheese bar, mix well and form 16 small cheese balls.

5. Pass the cheese balls through the bacon mixture and place 2 pretzel sticks in each ball.

6. To accompany in the best way possible these spicy cheese balls, a fig or tangerine jam is very good.
