Portuguese Bifanas (Pork Steaks Sandwich) Recipe

In Portugal we love all kinds of bread, so we have to use it a lot in our recipes! This recipe is super traditional and you can give it a twist with the melted cheese! Try this at home and share your thoughts with us! ❤️

Portuguese Bifanas (Pork Steaks Sandwich) Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

1Kg Pork Steaks to Stew
1 Onion
2 Bay Leaves
150mL White Wine
4 tbsp Tomato Pulp
Olive oil
Salt
Black Pepper
 Chili

Recipe:

1. If the meat comes in very large pieces, cut at home into smaller, thinner strips.

2. In a saucepan, place the sliced onion to sauté with the two bay leaves, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and chili.

3. After the onion is browned put the white wine to boil and then add the meat and the spoons of tomato pulp.

4. Let it boil for 15 minutes on high heat and after that time, leave it for another 10 minutes on low heat to thicken the sauce.

5. You can eat on bread or with other accompaniment that you think is appropriate.

Bread crumb Cake Recipe

We know it may not look like a conventional recipe, but it breaks the rule of using flour and reuses an asset that sometimes expires. The bread!

Bread crumb Cake Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

8 Eggs
350g Granulated Sugar (1 and a half Cups)
250g Breadcrumbs (2 and a quarter Cups)
1 tbsp Cinnamon
 1 Shot Port Wine
1 tsp Baking Powder
 Butter to Grease
 Granulated Sugar to Sprinkle

Recipe:

1. Turn on the oven at 180 Celsius degrees | 356 Fahrenheit degrees.

2. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and whisk the egg whites.

3. Whisk the egg yolks with the granulated sugar until a creamy mixture is obtained.

4. Add port wine, baking powder, cinnamon, and breadcrumbs.

5. With the help of a wooden spoon, add the egg whites until the dough is fluffy.

6. Grease with butter a circular pan with a hole in the center and pour the cake mixture.

7. Bake for + -40min.

8. Unmold the cake and sprinkle with granulated sugar while it is hot to adhere to the cake.

A fun recipe to do with young people ❤️ they love to fill their own crepe! But be aware, because they can be very lickerish! 😂 Like we are!

Easy Crepe Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

1 Cup Flour
1 Cup Milk
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs
Ice Cream or Jam

Recipe:

1. Heat the milk until it is warm and dissolve the flour in the milk.

2. Add the 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and the two eggs.

3. If lumps of flour remain, you can pass through a colander.

4. Let stand for 2 hours in the fridge.

5. Grease a frying pan with a little vegetable oil and place a scoop of the mixture into the middle of the pan.

6. After it starts to get dark, turn the crepe over and leave it on the heat for a little while.

7. You are ready to fill it with ice cream, cinnamon, jam... or even better, chocolate! 🤤

Portuguese Duck Rice Recipe

If you never tried duck, you have to taste this dish! Will amaze you! ❤️

In the middle of the table, you'll create a splash of color with this platter! Beautiful golden rice, almost toasted and crunchy, to make your friends love duck! 

Portuguese Duck Rice Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

1Kg Rice
1 Duck with Giblets
1 Carrot
1 Onion
2 Garlic Cloves
1 Pepperoni Sausage
1 Piece of Bacon
1 Bay Leaf
2 Egg Yolks
Salt
 Black Pepper
 Olive Oil

Recipe:

1. Fill a pan with water and put the duck to cook with a carrot, an onion, two cloves of garlic, a pepperoni sausage, bacon, a bay leaf, salt, and olive oil. Until the duck is cooked.

2. Once cooked, remove the duck and grind all the cooking until making a broth with a magic wand, previously removing the bay leaf.

3. After cooling, you have to shred the duck and fry the giblets by breaking them into small pieces.

4. Place the rice to be cooked in the duck broth and check that the seasoning is correct, if necessary, add salt.

5. With the cooked rice, it is necessary to proceed to the assembly of the platter. Create a base of rice, stuff it with the shredded duck and the fried giblets, and add rice again.

6. Before taking it to the oven, brush the rice with the egg yolks and cover with bacon and pepperoni sausage.

7. Place in the oven at 180 Celsius degrees | 356 Fahrenheit degrees until it turns a golden color.

Caramel Egg Pudding Recipe

A recipe for a Sunday lunch with the table full of family and friends!

A freshly made pudding on the weekend can save an entire week of crazy work! 😅 We love to eat it very fresh, so if you want to as well take it to the fridge for about 4 hours, or make it the night before! 

Caramel Egg Pudding Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

4 Egg Yolks
4 Eggs
12 tbsp Granulated Sugar
1L Milk
¼ Cup Port Wine
2 tbsp Cornstarch
4 tbsp Granulated Sugar

Recipe:

1. Place the 4 eggs and 4 yolks in a bowl and wishk lightly.

2. Add the sugar and wishk again.

3. In a glass pour 200mL of milk and dissolve the cornstarch.

4. Then add the glass of milk with cornstarch, the 800mL of milk left, the port wine and lemon zest.

5. In a saucepan put sugar to make caramel. After obtaining that point, pour the preparation in a pudding pan and grease the sides with the caramel.

6. Pour the pudding mixture into the pan and close the pan.

7. Fill a pan with water and place the pan with the pudding filling inside to bake the pudding in a water bath.

8. Leave the pudding to cook for 45 minutes in a water bath in the stove.

9. After boiling, let it cool slightly and unmold in a deep dish, due to the caramel of the pudding.

Portuguese Steamed Clams Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

1Kg Vietnamese Clams
1 Large Onion
150mL White Wine
80g Tomato Paste
2 Bay Leaves
Chili (lots of it)
 Salt
Olive Oil

Recipe:

1. Place the clams, sliced onion, white wine, tomato paste, bay leaves, chili, salt, and olive oil in a pan, place on medium heat for 30 minutes.

2. After these 30 minutes, turn off the stove and let the pan stand for another 5 minutes in the heat of the stove.

3. Serve hot and accompanied by bread to enjoy the sauce that you made at the same time with the clams.

4. Easy peasy! 🥰

Chicken Stroganoff Recipe - The2Planners

Ingredients:

3 Chicken Breasts
300gFresh Mushrooms
200mL Cream
300g Rice
 1 tsp Nutmeg
Lemon Juice
 Salt
Black Pepper
Olive Oil

Recipe:

1. In a pan, place rice with salt and olive oil to fry over low heat, then add boiling water. Increase the heat and stir 3 in 3 minutes so that the rice does not stick.

2. When the water starts to disappear, set the heat to a minimum and close the pan for 15 minutes. The rice will get dry and is ready to eat.

3. In a large skillet, add olive oil, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to sauté the chicken, cut into strips or cubes.

4. Then add the freshly sliced mushrooms and let it sauté.

5. When ready, add the cream and nutmeg. It can serve!
